This Fire Should Not Have Happened!
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. "Covering up and not accepting responsibility." That's what the homeowners who lost everything are saying about the Lower North Fork Fire. This is the story of that fire as told by the homeowners of Kuehster Road. This is what actually happened; the lack of action and accountability by the State of Colorado and Colorado State Forest Service who have admitted to causing the fire in a controlled burn that got out of control. This was the 9th prescribed fire set in Lower North Fork in last 2 years that was part of an “Experiment”. Of the previous 8 fires set before our Fatal Fire in March , 5 of those Escaped. With this kind of history how could they have set this fire? To date, very little has been done to help the victims. No accountability for the negligence that destroyed our homes and killed our friends and family members. The homeowners have been forced to shoulder the burden of this fire alone. It was a fire they did not start, and that nature did not cause – A Wildfire That Should Not Have Happened.
